NewsJack Penate and The Strokes come togetherJack Penate featured at the debut of former Test Icicles member Dev Hynes' solo project Lightspeed Champion in London tonight (July 19). Penate joined the band for a cover of the John Martyn's classic 'Over The Hill' introduced as a "special guest." The star studded show was the debut London solo gig by the former grot rocker and also featured The Horrors singer Faris Rotter. The singer featured on the track 'I Could Have Done This Myself', the band was augmented by support act Emmy The Great on violin and backing vocals. Before the track 'No Surprise' he said: "It's not about incest but it is for my mum." The band ended with a performance of a version of The Strokes 'New York City Cops' Hynes told the audience: "Thanks so much for coming it means so much to me." Hot Hot Heat announce massive North American tour Hot Hot Heat have announced that they will embark on an extensive tour of North America this fall. The Canadian rockers will kick things off in Los Angeles at the KROQ Invasion on September 15. They'll then play several dates on the west coast before heading east to play major cities including Philadelphia and New York. They'll wrap things up back on the west coast at San Francisco's Filmore on October 30. The band are supporting their forthcoming album 'Happiness Ltd', which is due out September 10 in the UK and a day later in the US.
